Dr. Shivesh Thakur,is a dedicated and passionate medical gastroenterologist with extensive training and experience in the field. he holds an MBBS from MGM Medical College Indore, an MD in General Medicine from NSCB Medical College Jabalpur, and completed his DrNB in Medical Gastroenterology from Choithram Hospital and Research Center, Indore.He also holds prestigious MNAMS in Medical Gastroenterology, New Delhi.
With over nine years of experience in both academic and clinical settings, he developed a comprehensive skill set in managing a wide range of gastroenterological conditions. His clinical journey includes:
Internal Medicine : Three years in the Internal Medicine department at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, managing critical and non-critical patients and gaining hands-on experience in various interventions.
Academic Roles : Two years as an Assistant Professor at Index Medical College, engaging in teaching and research while managing patients in diverse clinical scenarios.
Gastroenterology Focus : During his residency at Choithram Hospital, he had the opportunity to perform over 5,000 diagnostic upper gastrointestinal endoscopies and colonoscopies and more than 150 therapeutic procedures, including ERCP and various endoscopic interventions.
Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship : At Aryvart Hospital, he honed his skills through a fellowship in advanced endoscopy and EUS, significantly expanding his procedural capabilities.
Research and Education
He is passionate about advancing our understanding of gastrointestinal diseases. His research interests include the prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and its associations with diabetes, as well as the role of inflammatory mediators in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus. He has presented at various conferences, earning recognition for hiscontributions, including a prize at the National Conference on Diabetes and Endocrinology in 2018.His special interests includes Pancreatic pathologies,IBD and Functional GI disorders.
